We're always looking for new volunteers to help the Burley Local History & Archive Group
Burley Local History Group task list:
- Event ideas i.e. talks, either during Library opening hours or other times.
- Answering questions from visitors & website enquiries from members of the public.
- Marketing & publicity for the group & archive. Such as Facebook groups - Burley in Wharfedale Years Past; Burley in Wharfedale Village Group; What's Going On in Burley in Wharfedale; Ilkley Memories; Old Otley - Things You've Forgotten. Plus various online forums; Flickr etc.
- Making connections (via email & phone) to other history groups, archives & visitor centres - i.e. reciprocal weblinks and/or helping in the safe disposal of Burley Archive files that are not strictly Burley District.
- Assisting with updating/editing the website. Anybody taking the task on will be given instructions on the software currently being used.
- New exhibitions - any topic or theme that's of interest - usual format is one side of x6 panels vertical or horizontal.
Or reviving previous ones - currently around 20 themes covered - many could do with updating the images & text.
