This guide goes west from the junction with Station Road to Leatherbank.
107 Main Street - Corner of Main Street and Station Road, Burley in Wharfedale. (The whole building was called Fountain House).
1901 - 1922 - Samuel Smith - Grocer & Confectionery

1955 - 1976 - Ernest & Margaret Barker nee Smith
Margaret Barker's grandfather Mr Samuel Smith first bought the business in 1901. Her father Mr Herbert Smith inherited it. In 1939 she married Ernest Barker at St Mary's Church. Mr H Smith died in 1955 & left the business to his family, but his son John Smith was keen to pursue his career as an engineer and passed the business to his sister Margaret, her husband & his mother. They turned the business into a limited company. Mrs Smith died in 1963.
The Barkers continued to run the business until their retirement in 1976. The new business owners became Mr & Mrs Downton of Riddlesden, Keighley who ran it as "The Corner Shop" until 1984.

Craven Bank & Unionist Club used the same entrance. The whole building became the Conservative & Unionist Club when the Craven Bank moved across the road to 120 Main Street.

1971 - c1989 - R A Cussans (Tony & Vera Cussans) - Grocers & Off-Licence.
Cussan's Cafe upstairs with grocers downstairs. Sold cakes & local people referred to it as a "bakers", but unsure if it had a bakery on site. 1989 onwards Moghul's Restaurant & Take Away

According to their advert from the 1950s, John W. Bell & Son had been established since 1867. 1960s /1980s G.E. Lascelles Fruiterer & Florist.

Junction of Main Street, Victoria Road & Sun Lane
Upto the 1950s was known locally as the "bottleneck", as various buildings encroached onto Main Street narrowing it at this point.
On the corner of Sun Lane & Main Street, what is now - 2019 - green space, stood Robinsons Grocers. This was previously Dixon's grocers.
