The Burley Community Library is always on the look out for more reference books. If you have any suitable publications & of good quality that you would like to donate, please get in touch via email or call in with them.
The kinds of reference books & publications we want include: dictionaries, encyclopedias, bibliographies, almanacs, directories, atlases, ordnance survey maps, yearbooks and handbooks. Those of a historic nature may be added to the Burley Archive.

Pop in to the Library on Grange Road, Burley in Wharfedale with some ID,
complete the form & collect your membership card & PIN number, there & then. Alternatively please use the online membership form here & select "Burley" as your library in the drop-down menu. You will need to collect your membership card from the foyer counter at Burley Community Library. |
Lending Services
Borrowing Allowances:
It's completely FREE to borrow up to 25 of the following items - books, talking books on cassette, CDs and MP3s, fiction books, non-fiction books, large print books, adult books, children's books.
Borrow e-books (4 per person) and e-audiobooks (2 per person) on top of your normal allowance.

Renewing Items:
You initially borrow items for 3 weeks. If no-one else wants them after this time you can renew them again and again and again ... until someone else wants them, or you have had them for a year!
To renew items either call into the Library with them or do it online by logging into your account on the Bradford Libraries Network.

Reserving Items:
Reserve any item that is in the Bradford Libraries Catalogue completely free of charge and get it delivered to Burley Library. Either call into the Library foyer or login to your account on the Bradford Libraries Network.
Reservations via Inter Library Loans i.e. those items borrowed from outside of Bradford Libraries Network Cost £5.30.
Reservations of Books from the British Library cost £8.30ea.
Renewing costs £3.10ea.
Photocopies of items from the British Library cost £5.25ea.

Sourcing New Books:
Ask us to buy new books for you to borrow that we don't already have in Bradford for only £1.00. This is subject to them still being in print and available from our stock suppliers.
Lost Cards:
If you do lose your card and can't find it (they usually turn up somewhere, often in a book!) you will need to ask for a new one. It costs £2.00 to replace an adult card, £1.50 for a senior citizen. The first replacement card for children is free of charge. Then it costs £1.00 to replace a child's card.

Public Facilities
Library Parking - There are 6 car parking spaces & 2 dedicated disabled spaces, down the left hand side of the building. Plus one more at the very front.
2 metal hoops just to the left of the entrance ramp are for bicycles. Library Access - The Burley Community Library building is all on one level for ease of use. It has a very shallow ramp at the entrance, which allows access for wheelchairs, motorised scooters, prams & pushchairs.
Public Toilets - are located through the Fire Exit at the back of the main library room. There is a disabled toilet & baby changing facilities
Induction Loop - the main room has an induction loop, the control is located on the desk of Library reception. Ask the staff to activate it.
Library Wi-Fi - This is still available. Its range is limited to the environs of the Library, such as the car park & the path running alongside the building in Grange Park.
