Burley Community Archive & Library
Burley Archive
Preserving the past for the future.
In the rear room of the Burley Community Library building is the Burley Archive. Run by the Burley Local History & Archive Group (BLH&AG), a volunteer organisation interested in all aspects of the past of Burley District.
- We collect anything of interest - maps, family papers, books, pamphlets, photographs, newspaper cuttings etc. If you have anything that we could use, get in touch via the contact form to arrange a meeting. We'll make copies of items if you don't want to gift them.
- We carry out original research on the people & places of Burley Woodhead, Greenholme, Scalebor, Stead, Burley in Wharfedale & Burley Moor.
If you would like to join the BLH&AG, please get in touch via the contact form.
We urgently need volunteers who are interested in all aspects of archives & archiving.
See the Volunteers page for more information on Burley Archive tasks & History Group ones.
We also need people who are just interested in local history & want to know more about where they live.
